Does not push tasks out after being linked

We imported an old file into Project when this started occuring, but I have
since uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but it still is not
working.
I am attempting to create several tasks in Project and then link them so
they are dependent on each other. Once I link them they do not move out to
show the dependency on the previous one. Any thoughts as to why?
