No, absolutely not (unless you have other problems, i.e. hardware or
software issues). I've been running Project 2000 on Windows XP home for
several years with no problems.

I actually have project 2003 but a friend wants a copy and wasn't sure
whether it work on his system.

It won't because all copies of Office Software need to be registered per machine/user.
