Drawings & Graphics over a Table

At home, I use Office ME and I am happy w/ it.

In my office, however, I have to use Word 2002, no choice. When I draw sth,
say an arrow over a table, i find it irritating that the size of cells should
be affected. Sure it doesn't happen w/ ME. Is there any way I could avoid it?

Would be grateful for some hints.

What kind of product is Office ME?

FWIW, when I use the Drawing tools in Word to draw an arrow (or some other
object from the Drawing toolbar) over a table, it does NOT affect the cell
size... HOWEVER, I do have the Drawing Canvas turned off by default. When I
activate that, then I do see a problem such as you describe. So:

1. You can press ESC after clicking the tool (the cell size should revert) then
draw the arrow.

2. You can turn off the automatic creation of a Drawing canvas when you click a
Drawing button: Tools/Options/General
