Don't know if this is the site or if should go to Server NG.
I am a IT support type, limited Project knowledge.
One client computer with Project 2K3 Pro. Project functions OK for a while,
but without warning the data file shuts down, with one of several messages
stating the network resource is unavailable . Data file located on
network. Not part of a Project Server setup.
Tried to Re-Install application, no help. Thoughts were the laptop's
wireless NIC Xmit/Recv was suffering from a heat related failure, but not
so. Virus and Ad-ware scans are negative. Errors most likely to occur
when network traffic is very high (Time-out ?)
Only other project user loaned original user her desktop computer for test
and the data file had no connective problems. All tests point to Laptop
being source of fault, or error in local setup to retrieve re-fresh data
from server location.
Any ideas or link to Fault isolation check list?
BTW: yes I know I am lacking a lot of specific details, please forgive me.
