Dropping emails

Problem: MS Outlook 2003 "selectively" drops inbound/outbound emails. Runs
slow and get [Not Responding] message often. Have a 3-400 emails saved in
client folders. Comcast user account can't receive email to hosted user
account on same 370 workstation. Send email to 5-6 address, one (good
address) doesn't receive. Verified that it is not a network problem. Any
suggestions for a fix...?
