This might be a similar problem to the "Emails over and
over," below. We run an Exchange 2000 server (W2K/SP4) in
our office, and allow users in a remote office to get their
email by POP3. To make a long story short - we had to
change the name of the POP server in Outlook from a valid
DNS name to a local network name.
Now, one of the users (Outlook 2002) who leaves his email
on the server is getting duplicate emails of everything
that's already in his in-box. It was very handy - he left
a copy of messages on the server so that he could use
Outlook Web Access and have a backup in case his laptop
gets stolen or dies, etc.
Any resolution to this? I've seen it before, in Outlook
Express, and see that I can fix it there by deleting the
pop3uidl.dbx file. Doesn't seem like that would apply to
Outlook. I'd let him download them all and delete the
duplicates, but I suspect it will just happen if/when we
change the name of the POP3 server again.
Thanks in advance.
