Duplicate Messages

Does anyone know why I sometimes receive up to 4 copies of
the same message? This happens with junk mail as well as
regular mail. On certain days, everything comes in
duplicate.

It depends on how much mail your receive and namely on how often you check
the server for new messages. If there are a lot of messages on the server
you get your messages from or they are large and take more than 30seconds -
1 minute to download and delte previously downloaded messages, Outlook will
keep downloading the messages over and over until the cycle is stopped. The
problem is since Outlook doesn;t finish before the i minute is up and the
messages aren;t flagged as downloaded yet, it downoads them again...and
again.

Change the setting to check for new messages to something reasonable - 5
minutes or so.
