Duplicate Outlook Contacts when Clicking To:

I may be asking a question that was asked earlier, but I think that this is a
little different. I have a friend that purchased a new computer and moved
some outlook files from the old computer to the new one. Now he has serveral
outlook.pst files, and at some point I would ike to know the best way to
consolidate them into one. My primary question now is that when he begins a
new message, and clicks the "To:" button, he gets a new dialog box labeled
"Select Names" with a list of 5 entries.
Outlook Address Book is first listed with the rest indented. They are:
Accounts, Business Contacts. Contacts, and Contacts again. It is the second
Contacts that has his primary contacts, and the one he would like to default
to. How do we do that, and is there a way to consolidate those?
He is also using ACT! 2005 and Business Contact Manager, which may explain
some of the entries.
Thanks in adavance for any help.

Drag-and-drop works well for me.

He can tell the address book which one to show first. Open the address book
and click Tools>Options.

Brian, thank you for your response. He has several outlook.pst files of over
200MB each, so I'm not sure he cares to drag and drop, but I will offer that
suggestion to him. I was looking more for a method that works when moving
Outlook data from an old computer to a new one.

In regards to the Address book answer, I need a clarification. The address
book that I am familar with is the Windows Address Book. When I open mine,
there is no option to Click Tools, Options. I only have Tools, Accounts, and
Tools, Actions, which also has no Options listed. Could you be more specific
in your answer? Did I misunderstand which address book you are referring to?

Thanks,

Don K.

There's an address book icon in the toolbar. It looks like a book. Click it
and follow Brian's instructions.

Outlook doesn't use the Windows Address Book and the Windows Address Book
doesn't (normally) reference the Outlook Contacts folder. I'm talking about
the Outlook Address Book obtained by clicking the "Address Book" icon in the
Outlook toolbar. Since you're the one who mentioned "Outlook Address Book"
in your original message, how can you not know about it?

Judy and Brian, thank you very much for helping me. Judy, pointing out the
"Address Book" icon was very helpful, and after I saw that I realized what
Brain was telling me was correct and the solution to my issue. Again thanks
to both of you for your time and expertise.
