duration changes when entering actual work in Project 2003

I am trying to update actual work perfomed in the "Resource Usage Sheet".
The start and/or end dates are changing. How can I fix this? I have all the
tasks marked as "fixed Duration" and have set caluction options to manual,
yet the dates still change

?????

Hi Andy,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

When you enter Actual Work, you need also to enter the Remaining Work,
whence Project will meet your requirements.
