I need to change the number in the duration but without changing the date in
the star and finish colomns, for a certain estimation in my plan, is that
possible???

No as the duration is the number of working days between the start and
end dates.

Why don't you:
- Save your plan
- Adjust the task durations as required
- See the effect on the plan
- Close the plan without saving it

Alternatively, if you have Project 2007, then you can use the undo
features to get back to your original plan.

No, duration is the amount of time between start and finish. Perhaps you
might want to change work?

Duration is one of the very fundamental units of measure in a project
schedule and as such has a very precise definition that you really can't
change and have anything else in the plan makes sense. It's defined as the
amount of working time units between when the task starts and when it ends,
period, end of story. Change the duration number and the start and/or
finish changes, that's just the way it works. If you'll fill us all in on
just what you need to achieve, we might be able to come up with some ideas
for workable alternatives for you.
