Duration in days problem?

P

parul

When i enter 2 days duration of a task starting on 14 November, it
shows end date as 16 November.

Ideally it should be 15 November. But if i enter 7 days for a task
starting on 14 November, it
shows as 23 November, taking into consideration that Saturday n Saunday
is off.

I am unable to understand this. kindly help me with this....!!!

Go to the Tools, Options menu, View tab and select a date format that shows
both date and time. I'll be your task is starting sometime after the
beginning of the work day. Assume the standard calendar, 8-5. I enter a
task with a duration of "2 days." That means the task requires 16 hours.
If it starts the 14th at 8am it will finish the 15th at 5pm. But if it
starts the 14th at 10am, it won't finish until the 16th at 10am, 16 working
hours later. I'll bet that's the source of your issue, at least that's the
most frequent cause. Regardless of the units you choose to enter and
display duration in, Project converts them into hours (actually, minutes)
for all its calculations.
