Duration

When I insert new tasks, the duration for the sub-task doesn't change to
incorporate the new duration/time.

I have the option set to duration in "days" however, when the duration is
calculated, it calculates it in decimals ex. 163.13 days. How do I fixe both
problems.

Hi,

1. I'm afraid you're messing up Work and Duration.
If 5 1d tasks all are planned tomorrow, the summary task covering them will
have 1 day as duration (the nbr of working days from start to finish)
2. Read FAQ 5. Default Working hours on
http://www;mvps.org/project/faqs.htm

How come if all tasks under a sub-task are the same duration, Start Aug. 1 &
end date March 31 all at 152 days, but the duration for the sub-task says
152.25 days?

Hi,

set the date format under "Tools\options\view" to include the hours and
minutes. You will most likely find that one or more of the tasks is starting
that little bit later than the others. Follow back to see why and it may be
that a predecessor is simply finishing at a time that moves over into the
beginning of the day on which the successor task starts. Another
possibility is the calendars set for the summary task and the underlying
tasks. If there is any differences there it is possible that again one or
more of the tasks is starting later than others.

Hope this helps

Regards
