Earned Value - month by month

I have a problem exacting “earned value†on a month by month basis.
I can export all the summary information using a modified File/Save As/Save
as Type/Excel/Project Export Wizard/Selected Data/Use Existing Map etc and I
am grateful for that but what I really want is to export the monthly totals
by month and not as a complete total.
The reports clearly state that they cannot be exported and therefore my work
around is to print out the report and then input by hand the month by month
data, which is a long and tedious job of doing something that I think is
reasonably simple.
Can anyone help please

In my organisation we use a add on to Project which is called " Safran for
Microsoft Project". See www.safran.no

Here you are able to do what you have problems with - and it siple in use....

If you view the Task Usage View and use the "Analyze Timescaled Data in
Excel" toolbar button on the Analysis toolbar, you may export the
timescaled Earned value information directly to Excel. The export
wizard will allow you to select daily, weekly, or monthly data.
