Is it a .wmf map? Are the counties defined? In Word, Select the map, expand the Draw
menu, select ungroup, you then can re-color each county or whatever highlighting you
choose. If the map is a bitmap, the editing will have to be done in a program such as
Paint.
I received it through a email, not sure what kind of a map it was but I'm
having trouble getting it into my Paint program now. I know there has to be
a easier way of doing this then what I'm doing...Counties are defined, and I
went into the draw menu but the ungroup option is gray scaled out.
What type highlighting are you trying to achieve. You can draw an autoshape or insert
on the map in Word. Word is not the best picture editor, but if it is what you
have...
This page has lots of help http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/CH060832071033.aspx
I can put a vector (.wmf) Missouri map on a web site that has the counties defined,
but not the names of the counties. It maybe easier to work with, let me know.
Well I finally took a different route with the editing: took a highlighter,
highlighted counties needed and scanned them in on a color scanner and saved
to a floppy. Thanks for all your help and talk to you later.....
