Eliminate the tab and left justify in a text box?

When I insert a text box, a dash (- ) bullet appears, and the curser is
positioned at the left of the text box. How do I set ppt such that whena
text box is opened, there is no dash bullet and the curser is positioned
either on the right or in the center of the text box?

I am confused here, do you mean a textbox drawn yourself with the tool on de
drawing toolbar or do you mean a textbox that you get when applying a slide
layout?
If it is the latter, go to View - Master - Slide master and select the level
by clicking on it and apply no numbers using Format bullets and numbering.
Center if you want by hitting the button in your format taskbar. Return to
your document and all your textboxes should have no bullets.
