EMAIL GOING TO WIRELESS COMPUTER INSTEAD OF DESKTOP

MAINE MAMA

INCOMING EMAIL DOES NOT APPEAR ON MY DESKTOP. IT GOES TO A WIRELESS LAPTOP
USING THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS THROUGH A NETGEAR ROUTER. IT SHOULD COME TO
BOTH COMPUTERS. WE USE MICROSOFT OUTLOOK ON THE DESKTOP AND OUTLOOK EXPRESS
ON THE LAPTOP.

If one computer is downloading & deleting the mail, it won't show up on both
computers.

Hi - please lose the 'all caps - it's hard to read and is considered
"shouting".
That said: if you want both PCs to receive the mail, you'll need to set each
of the mail accounts up to "leave a copy of messages on server" - and then
somehow, somewhere, delete the mail in the actual mailbox on the server from
time to time (webmail?) so it doesn't get too big and bump over quota. This
can be a pain and is often best avoided, honestly.

Well the answer you made is the closest I've seen in the hour I have been on
here or using hired Tech's but no one seems to know the answer. I have two
puters One desktop is used for artwork and grapphics XP Pro, the other is a
Laptop with XP Home. I want both emails ( OE) to go to both puters starting
with me opening the Laptop first thng in the morning. I have set up the check
marks in tools,Property etc area, but I don't want it to go to the server
(website) either., I am 77 and its hard to remember to clean that out every
night, and just having a cataract procedure it's hard to sear all the places
that say they have answers. Yourr's is the closest
#1 E-mail to go to both computers with Openng Laptop first
#2 E-mails NOT going to webmail (server)

I hope I gave you all the information you need to helo me I'm at my wits
end. There are emails I need on the Desktop as well as the Laptop.

Both puters are OE/I/E 6.0
Help if you can I do appreciate it Thanks in advance

Ask Outlook Express questions in an Outlook Express newsgroup.

That said, this is a general mail client issue, not specific to OE. In your
account properties there will be an option to leave a copy of the messages
on the server. You need to enable this option to prevent the mail client
from downloading and then deleting the message from the server. If the
first client deletes the message, obviously it won't be there when the
second client accesses the mailbox.

I would have both, but certainly the first to download the messages will
need to leave copies on the server so that the subsequent client can see
them.

I don't understand your reference to "dropping into the server". Mail
clients download incoming mail FROM the server. Only when you have a
message to send does it go TO the server.
