email mail merge

Chris at the Inn

I am attempting to send a Publisher email newsletter to a database of 1500+.
I want the recipients name displayed in the "To:" field so it will not be
regarded as spam.

What software would you recommend I download or purchase? I have seen
slipstick mentioned??? Any others?

What planet are you living on? That seems like a perfectly plausible
business situation to me. I just got through sending out an email merge to
700 clients with a client survey attached. These are current and active
clients who do not consider mail from me to be SPAM. It's a huge
disappointment that yet again MS has failed to provide the necessary tools to
complete common everyday business situations. How ridiculous that we have to
download third party software and program macros just to fulfill a common
straightforward need. MS takes us 90% of hte way there and then abandons us
to our own devices!

Much as I'd rather live on Mars where I would be several years younger, I do
live on Earth.

Which planet do you live on that you are just now reading a response that I
made on March 30th of this year? You must be on a dial-up with a 9600 baud
rate.

Wow! Touchy! I didn't need you to figure out how to get my job done. I
just happened upon your response and thought it was really catty and deserved
a comment. Obviously you have issues - so forgive me.

And I thought I was being quite witty with my comment about hamcdo living on
another planet with dial-up. Guess I missed my mark, huh?

(Ed - do you think I'll have to wait another three months for him/her to
reply to this?)

Not as many as you, clearly.

How far are you going to go back into the archives desperately searching
for "catty" messages to send snide replies to?

(And I've already come to terms with the fact that I'm a horrible person
and am prone to making really nasty and/or sarky comments, so please
don't bother reminding me.)

Confused

What a bunch of small minds. I just started here today and found this post.
I was wondering the same thing myself. I have 1000 customers and trying to
find the easiest way to send professional e-mails to my customers. And for
the life of me, I cannot send any e-mails via Microsoft Publisher. Although
I have Microsoft Outlook Express 6 - it is different than the e-mail system
within Microsoft Publisher - HELP!
