Email-msg-icon wrong in Outlook 2000 SP-3

David Cook

Only on emails from 'important person' do I see this problem. (By
'important person', I mean only those relatively small number of msgs
that come in with a red-colored-outline of a person included on the
envelope icon. I'm not certain what email client and send-option that the
SENDERS
of such msgs are using...might even be from some Linux-based email-client.)

The actual icon that is being displayed shows an 'unopened yellow envelope
with the red-colored-person-outline in upper left area of the icon'.
This is CORRECT when I have NOT yet opened (i.e. read) the message.
But, the problem is that this same 'unopened envelope / red-person-outline'
is
shown even AFTER I've opened / read the message! (In other words, toggling
the 'mark read' and 'mark un-read' property of such msgs does NOT change the
look of the
envelope-portion of the icon, but it SHOULD!)

So, I'm guessing that my Outlook is missing the icon of the 'already-opened
envelope
with a red-person-outline'...i.e. that it's a simple miss-named icon-file
that should
be easy to fix.

Is this problem known and is there a fix available. (It's kind of trivial,
but it would
be nice to fix this, as we often think we have 'un-read' emails when we
don't.)
My Outlook has all it's patches that I KNOW ABOUT installed. It is
Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627).

TIA...

Dave
