Email notification customization

Hi,
is it possible to customize the email sent as notification on task
assignment/change. I need to modify the body introducing some fields
collected within the project, for example when a PM assigns a task to
resorce the email notification should contains the start date and the
and date of the entire project.
Any suggestion?

I don't believe there is a way to put in variables into the default message
without customization.

You can, however, modify the text that is put into the end of the message in
PWA under Admin>Customize Project Web Access>Notifications and reminders

Every time a project manager does a re-publish assignments, he/she can also
modify the message text there as well.
