Email resent every time exchange is restarted

an email with a large number of bcc: addresses seems to be stuck in exchange 2000. Every time exchange is restarted ( such as when the server is rebooted ) the email is resent to the bcc: list .

Can't seem to find the offending email anywhere.

Has anybody seen this behavior before - anyone have an idea as to how to debug this?

Somebody must have on "auto-reply" and it is sending it back to the loop to
the entire group. An example of this is if someone is on vacation and they
have an "Out Of Office" reply set to "all recipients".

Yes, I have had this happened..and then the person is embarrassed.
