Emails Composed Offline Not Appearing in Sent Items When Synched?

I'm using Outlook 2002 SP-2 on a Windows XP Pro laptop.

Frequently I synched up my Inbox and work on cleaning it up when I
travel (plane, taxi, etc.) I will compose several emails offline
along the way and they will appear in my Outbox. Then when I go
online and open Outlook, the Outbox contents will be automatically
processed (sent).

When I did this on Sunday, though, I noticed that none of the emails
sent had copies saved in my Sent Items. I always default to save sent
emails in Sent Items and have never adjusted this setting, yet this
time none of these offline-composed emails were saved in Sent Items.

The emails definitely did get sent because I got replies to several of
them.

Might anyone know why in this case none of the offine-composed emails
sent from my Outbox appeared saved in Sent Items?

Thanks.

Chuck
