Embedding an InfoPath Form into a Project Task

Jason

Hi,

This is my first post, and probably one of many to come. I looked for this
in the search but did not find much useful information so sorry if this is
aduplicate.

I am in the process of rebuilding the MSP templates that my company uses and
we have tasks in our project that have questions and answers associated with
them. I was thinking about using an InfoPath form for the questions (rahter
than make each question a Task in the Project) so I can store the data. What
is the best way to get to or "launch" the InfoPath form while in MSP?
Probably the Web Access portion.

Is there a better way to do this that I am not thinking of?

We are running Server 2007, SharePoint 2007 and Office 2007.

Thank you,
Jason

I would do it by uploading the form to the Document library associated with
the project. After you upload the form, you can then attach it to tasks by
clicking the Link Items button at the top of the page where you edit the
Properties. After doing this, the team member(s) assigned to the task will
see a document link indicator to the left of the name of the task on their
My Tasks page, and can access the document from there. It's a little
clumsy, however, since clicking the document link takes you to a page where
you can see the document listed, but clicking on the document link there
takes you to the edit Properties page. From there you can click Close to
see the document library containing the form. Not perfect, but do-able.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale.

You are right, a bit clumsy. I was hoping for a more elegant fix but might
not get one at this point.
