Embeded Objects from Excel Change

I have four excel graphs placed as objects in PowerPoint.
Each time I save the PPT presentation all four graphs
revert to the same "last" selected Excel graph. How can I
lock the graphs to prevent the change from happening.

Try putting the graphs on a separate chartsheet in Excel.
Then select them, choose Edit, Copy
Switch to PPT
Choose Edit, Paste Special, Link

That will make them act a bit more civilized, I think.
