Embeded sound files PPT 3.0 cannot now be set to start AUTO with s

I embeded several sound files and everything worked fine. After I removed the
animation settings for several items, the sound icon on the screen (that
still works) is not enough to allow me to set it to play at the slides start
AUTOMATICALLY. Cannot get access to the sound file (even though it is there),
so I can time its running.

Do you mean that it is too small to select? Can you drag the cursor around it
to select it and then go to Slide Show > Custom Animations? Or do I totally
misunderstand the question?
