Empty Box Instead of Picture

Recently upgraded to Office 2003. Documents that
previously displayed an inserted object now display only
an empty box. I've already tried the Tools/Options/View -
uncheck Picture Placeholder as previously recommended.

Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem here. The picture placeholder
worked on some documents but not on others. The factor
that seems to be the problem with mine is that the images
that are not being shown after the picture placeholder
changewas made were imported from an adobe acrobat
document. When I right click the image in question and
select "format picture" and then select the "web" tab it
shows "adobe systems" listed.
