End The Madness

G

Greg Maxey

How do you globally set all mail folder views to the same font size? Surely
I don't have to go through each individual folder and each individual view
to change the default font from 12 pt to 10 pt. Please someone help end
the madness.

How are you changing it? When you change it in tools, options, mail format
font, it should apply to all items in all folders.

Diane,

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. It is not the font that mail is composed in
that I want to change. I am talking about the Column and Row fonts in the
various folders that contain mail message headers. By default these appear
as 12pt. I want to change the font to 10pt in all folders.

Example: I am in the Inbox folder. I click View>Arrange By>Current
View>Customize Current View>Other Settings. I change the column and row
font from 12pt to 10pt.

How do I make that change globally for every message view in OUTLOOK?

start outlook with the cleanviews switch to clean out all of the old one-off
views. Then edit the messages view using views, arrange by, current view,
customize. Select the Messages view and modify the view.

Diane,

I am missing something. I followed your steps and everything was right in
the folder I was in "Inbox" but then when I change to the another folder
like say "Sent" items then they appear as the default \cleanviews look.

Is there no way to set a messages view that is applied globally to all
message folders (i.e, Sent, Inbox, Deleted, Draft, ....) Thanks.

if you change the default view, it should apply to all folders - there are
instructions at http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/grouping.htm for changing
the grouping, follow them, changing the appropriate options instead of group
views.

Diane,

Thanks. While it doesn't appear there is a way to define a new "default"
view, I think I can get through teh changes with the information you have
provided.
