Enterprise Flag Field in Bar styles.

Hello,

I set up the Enterprise Flag1 Field with a formula in the Enterprise Global
checked out. I expected to use it in the Bar Style dialog to change the
color of some bars, but I don't find it in the Bar Style dialog. What's
wrong ?

Thanks for help.

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
you cannot directly reference custom enterprise Task flag fields in the Bar
Styles dialog, but you can indirectly reference them. Here's what I did:

1. Created an enterprise Task flag field called Format the Task in the
Enterprise Global file (I used the Enterprise Flag1 field)
2. Saved and closed the Enterprise Global, then relaunched Microsoft
Project and logged into Project Server
3. Opened an enterprise project
4. Set a value in the Format the Task field for each task I want formatted
5. Created a new local custom Task flag field called Format Task in the
project plan (I used the Flag1 field)
6. Added the following formula to the local Format Task field: [Enterprise
Flag1]
7. In the Bar Styles dialog, I added a new bar definition called Formatted
Task that references the Flag1 field

The software correctly formatted each selected task that I specified in step
#4 above. I realize this is a workaround, but at least it works. Hope this
helps.

Thanks a lot Dale,
I'll try that!
