Entourage 2008 Calendar Issues sending meeting invites.

P

pshutton

Hi all,

When selecting a new calendar appointment and setting up date and time
I then proceed to invite the appropriate delegates. When selecting the
delegates from the exchange server I notice that the "Send Now" button
toggles from being greyed out allowing the send.

After adding the delegates I am unable to send the meeting request
whatsoever. By selecting the "Invite" box again I am able to add
additional delegates and moving the cursor up and down the "send now"
button stops being greyed out. As soon as I hit return on a candidate
it greys out.

I am using Office 2008 12.1.5 patch.

Are there any workarounds?

Paul.

Actually the problem seems to run deeper, I am unable to accept,
decline , accept tentaively any calendar problems....

I had noticed that there had been a fix in 12.1.3 in that Exchange and
IMAP accounts were unable to co-exist together, anybody have any
ideas?

That doesn't look too good. I am wondering whether there is a chance
that the 12.1.5 update that was supposed to fix the issue partially
failed to install on your Mac. You might consider uninstalling then
reinstalling (and updating all over again) Office on your Mac,

As far as I am concerned, it's a first. I haven't yet seen this on any
of our Mac here (after they've had the 12.1.5 update).

Is it old invites you had in store or new ones you received after you've
updated?

Well when I had deleted the copy of MS office 2008 using the removal
tool and running the install with newly downloaded updates, I noticed
that relaunching Entourage my email account and data seemed to still
exist. What do i need to do to actually delete all of the data from
entourage?, the removal tool seems insufficient.

They are new updates that i am trying to send and receive.

Paul.

simply delete the 'Microsoft User Data' folder from your documents
folder and re-start Entourage. A new, empty database will be created.

Most people do not want their data removed. "Remove Office" is designed to
remove the application not the data.

Hi Paul!

Are you possibly using the up/down/left/right arrow keys while you're
addressing your events? I've seen where that seems to spur the problem.
If so, try using the mouse and see if the behavior changes.

I know this problem has been brought to Microsoft's attention. I thought
it would have been fixed by now.

Hi,

I have uninstalled and deleted all the microsoft application and user
data for entourage.

I carried out the following step.

1. Rebooted.
2. Install office mac 2008
3. Reboot
4. Install 12.1.0 Update.
5. Reboot
6. Install 12.1.5 Update.
7. Reboot
8. ran the disk utility just because to make sure permissions were all
ok.
9. Ran the setup wizard to setup by exchange account at work which is
fine, all email downloaded along with calendar events.
10. Create a new calendar event for wednesday at 10am. As soon as I
use the mouse to click "invite" and then add a person using the mouse
to select the "to" box and add a user the send now box toggles to
greyed out.
11. I am unable to accept meeting invites.

I have tried using the mouse, the keyboard a mixture and hoping for a
full moon but to no avail.

Paul.

applications not just entourage.
