Entourage 2008 IMAP subfolders disappearing when clicked on

I just created a IMAP account on Entourage. The account has been on my server for weeks. When I click on a sub-folder (not the inbox), the folder disappears and Entourage crashes.

Just before this happens, it looks as if the folder is empty.

When I create a new folder through Entourage on the IMAP account, it is there for 1 second and disappears. But, it is created on the mail server. If I click on the account in Entourage and select 'Get Complete folder list' it still does not appear in the sidebar of folders.

Create a new Identity in Entourage. Enter your IMAP account info. Now
connect. Does the problem go away. If yes, then it's a corrupt database.
Depending on what you have in your Identity, it might be easier to just
start over in the new Identity. You can Option drag over your rules and
signature files. You will need to open each rule and reset it.

Diane, thanks for the quick reply!

I tried creating a new identity and I reset the IMAP account up again. As soon as I clicked on a folder other than the inbox, the folder disappeared and Entourage crashed. Any more suggestions?

thanks!

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage
there. This would eliminate any problems in your User's account.

If it happens there it's either a system wide problem or your account.
Applying the latest combo for Apple might help.

Let me know what you find.

Tried that and it crashed the same exact way. I have all Apple Updates and Entourage is also up to date. So you think it might be my mail server?

Thanks again

Does the same behavior happen when you set up the account in Apple's
Mail application? If so then I'd say this probably is a server problem.

Do you know any other Entourage users on the same E-mail server? Do they
have the same problem? If not then maybe your account needs some repair.

Hope this helps!

Getting this too in 10.5.2
Here's the strange thing:
Folders disappear on my IMAP account, not to be found anywhere, nor the
emails that were in the folder - however if I log into my corporate webmail
(hosted on an exchange server) there the are - with the folders and e-mail
intact.
No recreating of prefs and reconfigurations have fixed this so far, but it
appears to be a bug - and a serious bug - I can't work in webmail all day and
I am the net admin and systems specialist - I spend my day in email.

What happens if you click your IMAP account icon in the Folder List? The
full list of folders on the IMAP server should appear on the right side of
the window. You can then click to select folders missing from the Folder
List, and click the "Subscribe" toolbar button to add the folder to the
Folder List.

If the folder doesn't appear in the full list of folders when you click the
IMAP account icon in Entourage, try re-downloading the folder list. Under
the "View" menu, click "Receive complete folder list".

I had the same issue - email subfolders "grayed-out" as I clicked them; panic was quickly relieved when i found the info was still in my Mail App's database. Tried Subscribe and it worked.
