Hello,

My Entourage crashes when I load the application. I get an error log and the crashed module is libobjc.A.dylib. I have tried the Option key while loading the program but it still crashes.

Any Ideas and Thanks in Advance.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files.

Let me know what you find.

Up to date except OS, We can not upgrade the OS till Cisco Clean Access has a patch or we loose Internet Access.

Well it is Exchange.

With out a network connection Entourage will load.

As soon as you go to connect to the exchange server it crashes. The IT department spent quite a bit of time on it including reinstalling it. Which worked for a day or two. As of today the IT dept. has not got an answer for me yet. I have removed all the emails in my email box and since there might be 1 other mac with office that would use exchange as the connection proxy, students use POP, I can not really investigate my comparison or creating an account on that computer to see if it works.

Thanks

Could be a badly corruipted message.
If you create a new identity, can you load all your e-mails through
Exchange??

This sounds likely I can't see any reason why a network device would
cause Entourage to crash unless it's corrupting messages.

Messages don't usually crash Entourage unless they are displayed. Turn
off the Preview pane in Entourage. You should be able to receive all
your messages. Double-clicking a message will open it. If Entourage
crashes then the problem is definitely corrupts messages.

I tried to disable the preview pane, Entourage still crashes with this
report attached below. I am not sure what could cause it to happen and I
still have no email access unless online where everything is missing.

I see a lot of references to fonts on your report.
You might want to try using FontBook on your Mac to 1) validate your
fonts and 2) resolve duplicates (it's easy, look at the menus in Font
Book).

It could be a nasty font issue.
