Just to update, it was a bit more of a problem than Barry said.
I finally unshared everything from my Project and attempted to recover
trashed data. Clearly Project had done a number on my shared Contacts. I
feared, and indeed would have, lost lots of data because of it- contacts
disappeared en masse. However, as I had a synchronized list on my Palm PDA,
I restored it to the Entourage desktop, then began a new project.
Most everything came back, though there were some duplicates. Calendars did
not seem to be affected, just Contacts. After re-synching, shared the
project back to my laptop. That finally seems stable. I¹ve no clue why the
massive failure, but you can read the history on this thread for yourself.
I¹m going to be moving to Apple¹s Sync Services in the future. Like
Entourage, just not the sharing via Projects, it¹s favorite method is
dotMac.
Project¹s been flaky since I started using Entourage for unknown reasons.
Sharing between the Apple suite of software (Addressbook, Mail, Calendar)
and Entourage may be easier but also may have certain field inconsistencies.
