Entourage to Outlook migration

Dear friends:

Have you migrated your email accounts, filters, email folders and
data, from Entourage (Office 2008) to Outlook (Office 2011)? How safe,
automatic and easy this process is?

After you update your Office 2008 installation to Office 2011, does
the old Entourage installation remain in your computer, or it is
deleted and replaced by Outlook?

Can you continue using Entourage after the Office upgrade?

Thanks a lot again.

Thanks

1. I'm in the process of migrating from entourage 2008 to Outlook 2011
and it a pain in the ass (as it always)
was with MS programs. Outlooks keeps crashing and so I repaired my
database (1,3 GB) several times with no effect. Then I tried to import
in single steps (not all data at once): messages, contacts, accounts,
rules, signatures, preferences, calendar events, tasks, notes, custom
views, scrapbook clippings, which worked except my email accounts
(about 30) it still crashes during import...

2. Luckily the old MS2008 data remains on the computer untouched and
so I#m still able to use entourage with the old database, but this is
not a seamless migration....

What does from Office 2008 remain after installing Office 2011?
Entourage only? Or also Word, Excel and PowerPoint?

The Microsoft Office 2008 folder remains untouched, all 2008 programs
are still usable. Even the Microsoft Database Daemons of both
entourage 2008 and outlook 2011 run simultaneously. Though I don't
want to test running both programs simultaneously...

After 6 hours of importing crashing and reopening, I have my stuff
migrated with those drawbacks: the rules don't work because they don't
find the appropriate folders, the destination folder is set to inbox
in all rules.

Two things I miss from Entourage so far:

1. You can't choose the font and font size for list items, only small,
medium (too small for me) and large (too big for me)
2. In Entourage I could sort emails by e.g. the "from" column, click
the header an all messages were selected and I could drag them or move
them, this functionality is gone, I have to select the messages with
shift-click, very unuseful and annoying

I'm thinking about downgrading to Entourage, since I see no
improvements so far...

I test OL 2011 on another Mac - but with my current Entourage datas.
I miss the Entourage feature »delete message from server« in OL 2011 for
my pop3 accounts. Or have I overseen this?

The only feature from OL2011 - time machine could backup the datas if OL
is running. But the mail storage is better from Apples Mail.app than
from OL2011. OL2011 makes some folders ......

It was fairly smooth for us (on 6 computers).
