Entourage won't rebuild

Version: Older version
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

My entourage is full. I am told to rebuild and i have tried on several occasions to do so. I have restarted the computer several times.
All i get is the drop down box which says "preparing to rebuild" and nothing happens.

I have looked through all the posts and cannot find anything similar...so what is the solution?

Thanks

Rebuilding a damaged database that exceeded size limit

Be sure you have updated the latest version. Guessing you are in Entourage
X....

Microsoft Office v. X for Mac 10.1.9 Update

If you follow the directions you should be able to rebuild. I do this for
clients all the time.

I also tried doing an "advanced rebuild" same problem

I await your learned advice.

Did you read the article "Rebuilding a damaged database that exceeded size
limit?"

I keep a drive with 500 GB free to rebuild databases for my clients. I've
never had an Entourage X database that I wasn't able to rebuild with this
setup. Since you indicate your drive is full, you'll either need to clear
out space or buy an external drive install the OS and Office on it to be
able to rebuild.

Once you rebuild then you need to move your data into a new database. I have
found that often after you rebuild the data is extremely fragile and will
crash doing simple things like switching views. Depending on the corruption,
getting the data out can get complex. You'll need to carefully review all
the steps in this article:

How to manually move your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move
to a new Identity same version or revert to an older version)
