Entx conduit install problem

I've successfully used the ent conduit in all three versions of office for
mac. So why did I make problems for myself by checking out iSync? Just
curious I guess.

The isync installation moves the ent conduit to a disabled conduits folder.
At one point I tested putting both the Ent and the apple conduits together
in the conduits folder. When that experiment proved troublesome, I removed
the apple conduit.

Since then, as an attempt to cure other unrelated problems with entx and
office x, I have reinstalled Office x. Since then I have emptied all the
prior office x files out of the trash except the ms database daemon.

When I decided to quit fooling with isync, I simply rearranged the conduits
in the folders so that the ent conduit is in the conduits folder along w/
the palm conduits, and the apple conduit is in the disabled folder.

Now when I sync nothing is exchanged between ent and the palm. In addition,
I don't get any error messages.

The log reads:

Loading ³Microsoft Entourage Conduit²
Conduit ³Entourage Conduit² version 3.0.0
Sync type is Fast
Remote database 1 name is AddressDB
Remote database 2 name is DatebookDB
Remote database 3 name is MemoDB
Remote database 4 name is ToDoDB
OK Entourage Conduit

Strangely, when I go to conduit settings, I can not open the ent conduit. So
I can't reset anything.

So, I tried to reinstall the entourage conduit. Unfortunately the installer
stops short with an error message "Microsoft component plug in can not be
found." But the *component library exists* in the Office X > office folder.

I can successfully sync between palm desktop and the visor.

So I'm really stuck.
