I need to utilize an equation in Word 2003 that will total the sum of three
fields that
change each time the form is used anew. The numbers are dropped into the
fields
from other forms that are utilized in other places in the software. Any
ideas?

It is a custom form (.doc) used in conjuction with mortgage software known as
Encompass. The fields come from that software as well.

Is the document protected for forms? Are they formfields? If you press
Alt+F9, what do you see in place of the fields?

Why not use a formula field to do this? No vba required. All you need to do
is to code the equation fields and set the formfield properties to
'calculate on exit'.
