Error 0x8004210A after automatic update

An automatic update to Office 2003 on my desktop PC occurred a couple days
ago, and since then I can't receive email in Outlook, getting error
0x8004210A. I can still receive mail on my laptop, which wasn't updated. My
ISP and domain host both tested at their end and said the likely culprit is
the update. The fact that my laptop still receives mail supports this. I have
checked the email account settings on both computers and can't find any
changes that have been made. I'm on Windows XP Home, SP 2 & Outlook 2003 SP2.
I have tried shutting off AOL (McAfee) virus scan, spyware scan, and the AOL
Firewall, with no change in results. Any suggestions? Thanks.
