error importing excel data to outlook

Running Outlook 2002, if I try to import excel
information into the contact area, I receive this
message: An OBDC error has occured in Microsoft excel
translator while getting the contents of a file system.
OBDC Driver manager: Data source name not found and no
default driver specified.

I checked the support database and only found some
information on named ranges and problems due to the excel
file already being open. These don't seem to be the
issue.

Any thoughts?
