Error: "Installing Microsoft Word Feature"

Help!

I've performed 3 "clean" installs of Microsoft Office XP
under Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP1. Every time
I tryp to boot up Word, the application asks me to insert
the source disk so that it can "Installing Microsoft Word
Feature". Why is this doing this? How can I correct
this so that I don't have to keep using my source disk to
boot the application?

In Add/Remove features in the Windows control panel
is there a separate listing for Microsoft Word, possibly
from MS Works Suite?

You may want to uninstall the separate one first and
use the one from Office or do a repair/reinstall of Office
from its listing in Add/Remove Programs.

Hi John,

While logged in as administrator use the
Repair/Reinstall choice for Microsoft Office in
Add/Remove programs to see if it can correct the
issue. Sometimes it can't write everything to the
registry and just keeps trying.

Also check in the feature set for Add/Remove programs
for Microsoft Office that you don't have features set
to 'install on first use' state.
