Error pasting/editing Excel object in Word 2003

Hello all:

Here is my scenario. One of my client's has Office 2003 professional. They
are trying to paste cells into Word from Excel & are
going through this process:

1.) Copying excel 'cells' from Excel 2003
2.) Opening Word 2003
3.) Going to Edit > Paste Special within Word
4.) Pasting excel 'cells' as Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object

The Object pastes just fine...but when the user attempts to double click to
edit the object they get this error:

'Microsoft Office Word can't start the application required to open this
object.
An error occured and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would
you like to repair this feature now?'

So I attempted to repair by clicking 'Yes' and Office goes through a setup
process, but returns with this error:

'The server application, source file, or item cannot be found.
Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been
deleted, moved, or renamed.'

Does anyone know how to fix this??

By the way - I un-installed & re-installed Office 2003...still same errors.

Thanks in advance!
J
