Error Saving files

We are getting an error when doing a save or save as in
Powerpoint. The error is "An unexpected error occured:
i/o error 6" After clicking 'OK' a few times another
error appears. "Powerpoint found an error that it can't
correct. ..........."

We are using Powerpoint 2000 SP3. We have uninstalled and
reinstalled. Error appears with or without SP3 installed.

Anyone got an idea as to what is causing this behavior
and how we fix it?
