Error When Replying to Messages using Word as editor

I have an end user that is getting this error message when he replies to any
email when Word is set to be the e-mail editor.

"Microsoft Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is
unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The
Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead. An OLE registrations error
occured. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the
program."

I have reinstalled Office and all Office updates. Both programs are running
the same version.

Does anyone know how I can fix this error?

Thank you.

Hello Laura

Could there be an older version of Word installed parallell to th
newly installed?

If You in Explorer holds the 'Shift' key down while You right click o
a doc-file, You can select the 'Open with...' alternative. Use th
Browse button to point out the correct Winword.exe-file. See to tha
the 'always use the selected program to open this kind of fiel' i
marked.

I don't know if this will in any way help. But it is easy to try :-
