Using Word 2003 As E-mail Editor For Outlook 2003

W

Willy

When I try to send a message with the box checked for using Word as my e-mail
editor I get a message that says "Word is unavailable, not installed, or is
not the same version as Outlook... An OLE registration error occured. The
program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program."

In fact, Word was available, was installed and was the same version. I
uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office and this didn't solve the
problem. I have to use the Outlook e-mail editor instead... any suggestions?

Start->run, type "regsvr32.exe ole32.dll" and press okay. This should reregister the object and get rid of the error message.

Milly will the advice given in an earlier post solve my problem nwhich is:

I really want to use Word as my e-mail editor but I keep getting the message
"Word is busy or being used....etc." But it is not! How can I resolve this as
I like the grammar checker and spell checker in Word. I have a new Sony Vaio
Dec 2006 which I think is using all the latest XP programmes.

I hav eposted this but I just saw your post on a similar problem

I tried the

1) Tools > options > check use word as editor
2) Start->run, type "regsvr32.exe ole32.dll" and press okay
3) tried detect and repair on Outlook and Word.
4) Also reinstalled Office 2003

None worked.... Do you have any idea what I can do here ??

I really wonder why it takes so long for Microsoft to get a solid
solution out to those of us who are true users of their software to
its fullest extent - all it would take is some of their Level 2 or
higher folks to duplicate the problem and get a real solution out to
us. Until then, we are required to flail about until we come across
the solution, when they have the tools and resources at their
disposal.

OK - I am finished whinging - I have tried everything I have seen on
these posts including the detect and repair as well as the ole32.dll
tip - nothing has worked. It is obvious that one of the MS updates did
this. Let's see if someone from MS will post the actual solution,
tried and tested and actually resolving the problem.

Milly,

I tried your solution noted below on Office XP 2002 Student Teacher Edition
along with Outlook 2002 and was not successful. I realize your post was
aimed at office 2003, do you have any advice for Office 2002?

Thanks,

Rick
