Hello,
We are using Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook 2002 for the
users. This morning a user was cleaning her mailbox...
she created a subfolder and was basically moving emails
from her SENT ITEMS folder and DELETED ITEMS folder into
this new folder. She was doing this just fine until she
ran into a problem. She highlighted 297 messages from her
DELETED ITEMS folder and tried to drag them into the NEW
folder when she received this error message.
"creating a new item from the selected items could take
some time" ...are you sure you want to do this?
She said yes but then the messages would not move to the
new folder. She also tried right clicking when she
selected the messages and select "move to folder" but the
same error appeared. I searched on this error and can
find nothing!
Does anyone know why this would be happening? Is it some
time of limitation in Outlook, etc.? Any help would be
greatly appreciated! The user tried to do this again and
said yes to the message and then strangely enough a new
email message appeared, with all 297 items attached in the
message! We closed the email and said to not save it,
assumming that her messages would still be in the DELETED
ITEMS folder but they were gone!! Very strange!
