Error while trying to update office.

My company allows me to install Office on my home computer. The CD is for
Office XP. After I installed, I checked the Microsoft site for updates. I
keep getting an error: "You need the administrative version of this update
due to previously installed administrative updates."

What do I do???

Check with your employer - it sounds like they customised the CD for a
corporate installation, not a home installation. Ask them if they have a
virgin Office CD they can give you in return for your corporate version.
