Everything launches Reinstaller

Scott

For some reason, all of a sudden...everything that I click on that is related to Microsoft launches a reinstaller for Publisher 2002 and for Office XP. I found my Publisher CD but my kids got ahold of my Office XP CD about a year ago and broke it (they are 3 and 5 so they did not understand why it was so important). Anyway, I have tried everything I can think of and cannot get past this. I have searched the discussion boards to see if it may be a particular file that needs updated or what

Anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi, Scott,

Did you try one of these articles?

265194 - OFF2000: Windows Installer Appears Every Time a Program Is Started:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;265194&Product=ofw

827811 - PUB2000: Windows Installer Runs Every Time You Start Publisher:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;827811&Product=ofw

They refer to 2000 versions, but the same fixes may apply.

You can also get replacement media from Microsoft, which is a good idea,
anyway. They don't keep CDs forever, so you'll want to replace it sooner,
rather than later.

326246 - How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or
Hardware:
