Everytime I do a send/receive the Microsoft installer appears

Everytime I do a send/receive the Microsoft installer
appears before geting emails off the server.
I have a dialup account and sometimes retrieve emails over
LAN. This is very anoying does anyone know how to stop it.
Also the Office updater scan does not seem to work it
fails everytime, is it me??
