EXCEL ADD-INS

AVG001

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Currently I am using Office Home and Student 2008 for Mac, and I do not see any Escel add-in running. When I browse inside the add-ins menu I do not see any add-in available. What can I do? Where can I get the Add.Ins? Do I need the setup CD to install the Add-Ins?

There are no VBA add-ins that work with Office 2008 because VBA support was
not included in Office 2008, the first Intel version of the software. It
has been announced that VBA support will return in the next version of
Office for Mac.

Mickey,

When you say "next version" do you mean an update release in the next few
months?
Or are you talking about Office 2010/2011 or 2020?

Thanks,

Next version as in Office 2010/2011. Many users are keeping Office 2004
installed and using Word 2004 for VBA. No problem in running all
applications from both versions at the same time, but if go back and install
Office 2004 AFTER Office 2008 was installed, you will have trouble with your
font install.

Office 2008 Font Install Basics:

Office 2008 uses a different method for fonts and many fonts are new
versions. Office 2008 will install fonts to the /Library/Fonts/Microsoft
folder. By being at the root, then all users on the machine have access to
them and you don't get Office 2008 putting multiple copies on the machine
for each user.

The installer will scour /Library/Fonts/ and ~/Library/Fonts/ for fonts with
the same name and move them to /Library/Disabled Fonts/ or
~/Library/Disabled Fonts/ depending on where they were found.
