Excel calculation

What could be the problem with manual calculation? Set to
manually calculate work sheet and after hitting f9 does
not calculate.

Only if you enter or change a cell which has dependent cells, will Excel
recalculate.
However, there have been a few recalculation bugs in Excel. Excel 5.0a was a
disaster in this respect, and later versions of Excel needed several Service
Releases to get it all right.
