Excel $ merges with multiple numbers after decimal in Word. Why?

When I merge an Excel file into a Word document, the dollar amount column
(with a formula) comes across in my Word document with multiple numbers after
the decimal point. Is there some special way the Excel column should be
formatted? I have tried many ways and am ready to pull my hair out!

Hi Bonnie,

You can control this by adding a numeric picture switch to your mergefield.

If you select the existing mergefield and press Shift-F9, you should see
something like:
{MERGEFIELD ExcelValue}
Change this to:
{MERGEFIELD ExcelValue \# $,0.00}
or something similar, then run your merge. See Word's help file for more
information of field formatting.

Cheers
