Excel problem when shutting down Excel

A

Adam Raff

Good Day,

I did a install which was an upgrade from our Office 2003 Plus to Office
2007 Plus on three desktops including mine with no issues.

I then upgraded another user who has a laptop. The laptop has all the
required hardware and running Windows XP SP2 plus updates.

Every time you exit out of Excel you get the following errors

Hi Adam,

Sorry for the delayed response due to research.

I have received your screenshot and MPS report, and looked into the report.
It seems that some key Office components are corrupt during the process of
update.

In this situation, I recommend you perform a clean remove of Office 2007
and reinstall. Please carefully follow the steps below:

* Clean remove Office 2007
=================

1. Quit all running programs.
2. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

<http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/9/D/E9D80355-7AB4-45B8-80E8-983A48
D5E1BD/msicuu2.exe>
3. After you have installed the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, click
Start>All Programs>Windows Install Clean Up.
4. Highlight Microsoft Office 2007 entry in the list and then click
Remove. Click OK and wait for the process to end. If any other stand alone
Office applications (such as Visio and Project) appear on the list, please
also remove them. Then, click Exit to close the Windows Installer Cleanup
utility.
5. Remove 2007 Office Windows Installer files and registry entries. This
includes:
a. Remove the installation files, and stop the 2007 Office services
b. Remove the 2007 Office registry subkeys
c. Remove the 2007 Office installation files and folders
6. Restart Windows and reinstall Office 2007.

The detailed information for step 5 can be obtained at the following KB
article:

Office suite or program and then try to install the original release
version of a 2007 Office suite or program: "Setup is unable to proceed"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;928218

Please note: this also applies to the Office 2007 release version.

If the clean install do not help, please help me collect some additional
information:

* Information Collection
==================

Please provide Office 2007 install log:

1. Click Start>Run, and type %temp% then click OK.
2. Send me all the files like SetupExe(######).log if exist.

You can send them to <[email protected]>
